On December 8th, Polyplastics-Evonik Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Tadashi Kanai) held the groundbreaking ceremony at the Himeji Production Sector/Aboshi Plant of Daicel Corporation in Aboshi-ku, Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, to pray for the safety of the construction of the new plant, with about 50 people including company officials and construction workers in attendance.

Currently, the company’s Aboshi Plant is located within the Daicel Aboshi Plant site, and construction of the new plant will be in the same site, but at the different location, and will start with completion target within 2025 considering future production capacity increase.

After the construction is completed, the production facilities will be gradually relocated to the new plant, but there will be no changes either to the existing production facilities or processes.

　The new plant aims not only to secure space for future expansion of  production capacity, but also to contribute to a sustainable society and to promote work style reform, with the goal of further increase in corporate value.
